At Last: Big News about a Small School in Sonoma!

I will have more info within a few weeks, but I believe I have finally found a location for teaching and filming my culinary school course! It's in Petaluma, California, about 45 minutes north of San Francisco, and home to Aaron Jonas Catering.

Aaron is a friend who used to work with Michele, teaching classes at Viking Home Chef. Many years later, Aaron's sister, Josette, married Michele's brother Kenny. Small world, but I digress. Yesterday I drove up to check out his school and was very impressed. He's got a great space, and has done a beautiful job setting it up for his catering company, as well as his cooking classes.

I put together a very quick slideshow of the space to give you a sneak peek. Stay tuned for more exciting news, especially if you're located in northern California. For more info on Aaron Jonas Catering, and his cooking classes (which are getting rave reviews, by the way) you can contact him at (415) 846-9565, or check out the website at aaronjonascatering.com.

I'm headed off to the gym to start getting in shape for the cameras; you know they add 10 pounds. Also, does anyone know if they still sell that hair spray paint for covering up bald spots? Enjoy the photos!

Great stuff and great location. Plus, from there you're only about 30 minutes from some of the most gorgeous coast line in America if not the world.

I expect to see great seafood :), I have so many good memories of going to bodega bay or farther north and getting great fish. I remember some salmon coming in that was just amazing.

The Russian River is also gorgeous, I love and really miss that whole area since I live in NYC now.

rest easy, it won't affect the blog, except I may have more to post. I don't plan on holding regular classes, just filming my course, and doing other special events once in a while. Thanks!

CHef. Congratulations on the school! About time. As to the hair question, I frankly don't know whay you worry, you would look great yul bryner style; just shave the whole damn thing off. Seriously! Or a bandana, or nice scarf pirate style, any of those would work great, anad obviously you don't like a chef's tocque. Ricardo

A man who can cook is sexy no matter what he looks like.

Congrats, Chef! Great location! Agreed with Ricardo. Just shave it all off and go with the Michael Chiklis look.

Congrats, Chef! I had a little dyslexic moment when I read the title for this video and thought you were going to Samoa! I'm suffering from too much Midwest winter, I think.

Loved the Etta James choice and as for compliment fishing ... you don't need no "steeking" cover up, bald is beautiful!
