Wishing You a Happy Easter!

I know that Easter is a religious holiday, but for me, it'll always be associated with this sweet, shiny, aromatic bread. If you grew up in an Italian-American home, chances are pretty good you enjoyed something similar, but if you haven't, you must give this recipe a try! This originally aired back in 2009, and the link below will take you to that post for all the details.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, whether you're celebrating Easter, Passover, or just a beautiful spring day. Enjoy!

My family is one of the "Crazy" ones who weave eggs into the bread. They are not hard boiled, but usually dyed raw easter eggs. They cook in the baking process.

Also, ours is made into a "wreath", supposedly to symbolize the crown of thorns worn by Jesus on the cross.

Hi Chef. I love to bake bread. I think I will give this one a try.

By the way, I happen to believe that organized religion has caused so many to stop short of experiencing the real thing!

Happy Easter.

Thank you for the inspiring me to bake Easter bread. I delivered them to my inlaws and ants. I was so proud they were perfect. Braided Easter bread beauties...I had a blast making them. I am a food wish fanatic. I LOVE CHEF JOHN HUMOR AND SOOTHING VOICE.

(I purposely misspelled aunt as if Helen was annoying for a pun.
My apologies to Helen. You are the best behaven of our bunch.) ha ha

It's always a laugh what people put on food packaging. The container of honey we had at breakfast this morning read "Origin: EU countries and non-EU countries." (somewhat loosely translated)
