Chocolate Soufflés with Nougat Whip (Warning: Intended for Mature Audiences)

Chocolate Soufflés with Nougat Whip Photo (c) SmithBites.com
My friend, Linda from Salty Seattle, called this Chocolate Soufflés with Nougat Whip video, “porn without people,” and I couldn’t agree more. The term “food porn” gets thrown around way too easily these days. Sorry, that picture of your red velvet cupcakes was nice, but it wasn’t really pornographic. This, however, could make you blush. By the way, the surface temperature of a blushing face is the exact temperature at which chocolate melts. Coincidence?

This semi-sweet tour-de-force is from Debra and Rod “The Professor” Smith, from SmithBites.com. I’m relatively new to their work, but quite impressed to say the least. I’m very proud Food Wishes helped pioneer the chef-less recipe video, but this is taking that idea to a whole other place – surreal and viscerally sensual, yet still comforting and familiar. Please follow this link to check out the original post, and see more of their fine work. Enjoy!

chef john. as a fundamentalist christian i hope you realise how many people you offend using the word porn in your food videos, it is vile and sick and against the god. i am boycotting this website and i will petition my church to do the same. sex has no place in food or life.

You know we're not talking about having sex with the food, right??

Anyone that doesn't understand the context when used to describe food is an idiot. Believe me, your God knows the difference.

Btw, why would anyone be a fundamentalist anything?

Wait a sec... you're not talking about having sex with food?

Now I'm feeling a bit embarrassed...

So little time so many crazies. Case in point, the freak known as "Mary F."

Apart from some of the inane comments, a very enjoyable site.

Read it again and realize it's tounge-in-cheek. Got me. Well played.

Thanks so much, Chef John, for sharing our video with your community - we had a great time producing this video. Our intention was always to do an artistic piece and I believe we succeeded in that. We have enjoyed reading the comments, and appreciate your support! We're already working on our next piece...

My Goodness. *drool* Thank you Chef John for sharing. For Mary F., one question: Who are you to judge? God invented food, and sex, and humour. If you are depriving yourself of any one of those, then you are depriving yourself of God. Can I get an "AMEN"?

Well said, but I think we've determined Mary was a hoax ;)

Concerning Mary I like the term satire rather than hoax. At least it sounds more erudite. I suspected so when I read the post. I don't always read the comments but when I saw this I just knew the FW posters would make it fun. I was not disappointed.

Sex with the food...you know, I think that has been done in a couple of Hollywood movies at the very least. I think there were also two people involved so I guess that makes it okay. ;)

My facial expression while watching the video O.O

.. and at the end, I suddenly felt the urge for a smoke, odd thing is, I'm not even a smoker

"Sex has no place in life" ??!!!
Damn! So how on earth is human life meant to spread? Bipartition?
Anyway, I laughed so hard, so I guess: thanks Mary F.
Oh, and I don't know if sex has place in food, but food sure has a well earned place in sex.
Oh, and I'll try this recipe this weekend. :)

to Mary (e)F - the fundamentalist Christian... "sex has no place in... LIFE"??? Did I miss something? Sex is how life begets itself God (with a capital "G") is beside the point.
