Halloween Treat Special: The Devil’s Dentures!

We all know there’s really no such thing as a truly frightening Halloween treat, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give our guests a few moments of pause, as they process the sight of these fun, fang-filled apples staring up at them. Well, actually those are the bloody eyeball truffles staring up at them, but you get the idea.

I kind of like the minimalist look here, but there are dozens of ways you could up the grossness factor with these. Maybe some fancy fruit gummy worms, or rice pudding “maggots?"

It’s been a while since we posted a “scary” Halloween treat, and since most tend to be sugar bombs, I thought it’d be nice to share something a little healthier. I’m assuming there will be no shortage of candy around. Enjoy!

Maybe a little red food coloring in the honey Chef? Could make them bloody delicious...

"Jesse Ventura of your diablo dentura" okay, that wasn't bad.

I think if you stuff the "mouths" with peanut butter and then place the "teeth" into the peanut butter, it would be tastier AND easy to prepare.

Those are pretty scary. Maybe they would be more terrifying if you used slivered raw garlic! Oh, wait, that would chase away the scary vampires. Never mind, they are just right this way.

...these are extra scary if you are allergic to nuts.... like seriously scary. I think this is a fantastic idea but if you are serving them to children sub out the almond slivers for broken yogurt/white chocolate dipped pretzels or something. Anaphylaxis is super scary and not the kind of scare you want on Halloween. Otherwise these are super cute!! Excellent idea Chef John
