I&#...Yo Chef John...<br /><br />So I'd like to complain. <br />I'm only starting to cook because of your YouTube Channel and I'm finding it tough to stop eating the mixes before the final recipe is accomplished. ;)<br /><br />Seriously, I mimicked your recipe (but here in Australia I had trouble finding lamb, what can I say), so I used pork and veal mince... holy moly! Very tasty!<br /><br />I'll be eating this pie (I'd call it Shepherds too coz Irish folk have pigs so I deemed it okay). By the time I was waiting for the tata's to cook the mince reduced in content. But fortunately still had enough in the baking dish.<br /><br />My preferred drink with this was a good Irish Whiskey... it was awesome.<br />Looks like I'll be doing more experimenting using your great, easy recipes!<br />Irish I found your site sooner! I also increased vegetables (sautéed carrots w/ onion & garlic prior to adding the meat), used peas & a few beans/corn. <br /><br />My tips: if not using stock, at least use the water in which you boiled potatoes.
