But I went a step further - I bought a set of muslin pillowcases! Some I cut up, some I left whole, they have various uses in the kitchen and go right in the washer when done. I've attempted to make potato pancakes before but they turned out grey and gluey. No wonder. The other recipes didn't mention pre-soaking and rinsing the grated potatoes before frying them. Well, in addition to making sure that the potatoes are completely dry, the soaking and rinsing is the secret to making these amazing potato morsels! I have a trick that's very helpful help with the drying: you can pop your grated potatoes on a clean kitchen towel, get outside, make into a sort of bag and spin it around as quickly as you can. The water will fly out of the towel. Then open it, toss it and repeat, a couple of times. It's super effective to get rid of the water, provided you have a bit of grass around your house and don't mind looking like an idiot :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7173052990851751381.post-23025773244746044002015-01-02T20:42:32.711-05:002015-01-02T20:42:32.711-05:00All I can say is mmm, mmm, and mmm.
