George Clooney Update
Many of you may have been wondering what Clooney has been up to since he lost his gig as my online sidebar avatar. I’m sorry to report the news is not good. Apparently he took the dismissal much harder than anyone could have imagined. For those of you that are new to this blog, George served as a celebrity look-a-like for my profile photo for many months (you can see him pictured below during happier times). Once my secret identity was made public by About.com, I replaced Mr. Clooney’s photo with my own, and told him that his services would no longer be needed. At the time he sounded fine with it, and said he still would like to “stay friends.” We’ve all heard that one before.

Dude, that is hilarious! Now he is going to sue your ass! Now, I want a hotdog.
Not to mention... early in September George Clooney suffered a broken rib and some scrapes when the motorcycle he and a friend were riding collided with a car as the actor tried to pass the other vehicle.
Yes, things have not been going his way. Poor George.
ROFL
Is this even true?! Have you ever met him, and asked him to do a pix? This just doesn't sound crediable!
Ah, let me guess, you're new to my blog. : )
No I dont know him, but did use the second photo for my photo on this blog until last month. So this post is an attempt at humor for mainly my older readers that remember when I switched photos and "fired" George.
i thought it was hilarious, good work chef john!
I am not new! I have been checking for blog for about a year! >:[
Then I'm surprised you couldn't tell I was kidding (it seems pretty obvious). Also, I've mentioned and joked about using GC'c photo in many other posts. Anyway, like they say, don't believe anything you read on the internet!
I was just looking at the featured videos on Youtube and your french toast video is featured. I can't wait to make me some french toast now that I know how to make it like you.
On some of your grilled meat dishes, what do you recommend if I don't have a grill and would like to use the oven instead? Would you recommend baking or broiling? If it's boneless skinless chicken thighs what is the oven temp?
Depends on the recipe. I'm a hot oven guy... 450 usually for me if I want some nice color and caramelization.
Specifically, I am referring to the "Garlic Fennel Orange Grilled Chicken" recipe. If I use the amount of chicken you indicated (10 chicken thighs), how long should I bake it at 450 degree.
very tough to say exactly. i would check after 30 minutes.
