Snackpicks' Deviled Shrimp Bites!

Some of you may remember my trip to Little Rock last October, where I filmed a series of eight snack videos for Kellogg's Snackpicks.com. It was a really fun trip, and I had a great time working with an amazing team of producers.

This quick and easy Deviled Shrimp Bites is the first recipe to air. The video is very straightforward, but I will offer one additional tip. Be sure to use the best shrimp possible. If you are buying them cooked, they need to be fresh and sweet! Better yet, buy raw shrimp and follow the poaching technique in this shrimp cocktail video.

Be sure to head over to Snackpicks.com, to get the written recipe with ingredient amounts, as well as many more great snack ideas. Enjoy!

I thought this was a well done video. With the exception of the intro and outro, the video segment was true to foodwishes "focus on food as the star", which I know many folks happen to enjoy...even though we all know Chef John is the real star.

It's too bad millions can't learn a single thing about cooking from a channel completely devoted to food (food network)...

It seems that competition, melodrama, sex (in bad taste), and violence...are all unfortunate ingredients in nearly all recipes in the corporate cookbook.

The age of internet is upon us anyway...I learn here.

Bravissimo, Chef John. Thank-you for being you. I totally agree with Paul D:

"It's too bad millions can't learn a single thing about cooking from a channel completely devoted to food (food network)..."

You are our Jacques Pepin; we love you here in Little Italy Montreal. Don't change a bit.

Hi Chef John!

I'm a big fan!
Since i'm a canadian lost in Africa for two yrs now, can you help me a little:

-what is Old Bay (for the court-bouillon)? what can i use instead?

-i don'T have any sour cream here. can i replace with yogurt? (homemade, 'cause we don't find any industrial ones)

but don'T get it wrong: i still happy. I walk 20 m from my house, i have the sea, and i ask a little fisherboy of 12 yrs old to go get me some fresh gambas for the dinner tonight. :0)

Thanks! If you google Old Bay you will get lots of copycat recipes. It's just a spice mix. Yes, you can sub yogurt!
