I have no problem waiting a year to watch feature films via my overpriced cable provider, but the major drawback is that I never have any clue what's gong on during the Academy Awards show. I won't get any of Billy Crystal's inside jokes, and the video clip montages will only serve to confuse and annoy. So, for people like me, the highlight of any Oscar party is the food. Here are a few ideas that should garner rave reviews. Enjoy!
Deviled Eggs with Candied Pepper Rings |
Clams Casino Dip |
Italian Rice Croquettes |
Green Hummus |
Bacon Ranch Chicken Skewers |

Fixed! thanks!
Bacon Ranch Chicken skewers too!
And as to overpriced cable - Cox has been running promos for $75 a month for Advance TV, Phone and Net. So I called and asked about it. The net is their essentials pack which is a drop in speed from what I have now, the price rises to $89 a month after a year. But he let slip that both net and Advanced TV prices are going up by $10 next month.
The conversation ended with me pointedly asking if they were trying to drive me into the arms of Verizon.
Oh the oscars are too bougie for wings huh? No bones?
I so agree with you and tonight made a Lentil Ham soup with the addition of smoked venison sausage. The Oscar show is sooooo boring. Rather make a blackberry apple pie
I know it's to late to vote but I would have voted for ALL of them. Sorry, they just all look so good I wouldn't have been able to choose. Love Love Love your blog. :-)
A silent movie led the night. I guess Chef John's wordless Wednesdays was way ahead of its time.
do you use a pipping bag for deviled eggs? I did not and i find it very hard to refill!
You mean the pipping bag you'll see in the video? Yes, I used that. ;)
