I'm not exactly sure why these sweet, sticky treats haven't made an appearance yet, and I'm sure they will eventually, in one form or another, but in the meantime I'd like to present this very sexy version from my friends at Allrecipes.
Check out the video, and then follow this link to see the official written recipe for Dakota Kelly's Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns. Enjoy!

John,
Your voice seems a bit off?
He needs some garlic. That laryngitis is coming back!
This looks alright but I hate Hate HATE pecans. Also way too sugary for me.
I have a recipe I use in my Dutch Oven that's quite good, and uses a nice light frosting.
Sorry Chef John. Still want YOUR recipe. :)
Sorry Chef John. Still want YOUR recipe. :)
You know, after watching this video, it really points out what a great job you do. While the video shows us how to make the cinn rolls...I almost fell asleep.
Your video will be shorter and have a LOT more entertainment...anything involving something as gooey and sexy as cinn buns is just waiting for your SPECIAL touch.
Can't wait.
Thanks...and enjoy.
I had to stop after watching the 5th shot of adding flour.....
Is that enough butter?
Chef John, have you tried this recipe before?
no, have not.
Good video, even if it isn't 'ol John! Straight forward and very descriptive.
Don't knock it until you try it, as they say :)
I love Chef John's recipes... But this one is not his... These were pretty bad, they are not ooey they are just swimming in a pool of butter and taste as such. The baking upside down makes for this ultra wet bread that is not like a cinnamon roll.. On top of that they were rocks the next morning
Waiting for your recipe!
I tried this recipe, and I must say that I am surprised at the negative things that have been said by it. To each their own right??? Anyway, I did not have pecans on hand, I can't remember which nut i used, but i do remember it being the only thing I had... but i loved rolls. After cutting my dough, i placed them on a lined cookie sheet and let them freeze. Once frozen i placed in ziplock bags. When I had a sweet tooth or company over, I took them out the freezer let rise and thaw out .... didn't expect to type so much, I'm being lazy but anyway. I personally ENJOYED this recipe thanks for posting
chef john don't you think it's about time we have your recipe!?????? no substitutes will do for your fun club! holidays are over so back to work plsssss :)
This proves after you go Chef John, you can't go back. Even the non-witty title is lackluster. Chef John, you are the King Tut of what's in my gut.
Somehow I don't think I am going to be able to pull this one off in my dorm...
These rude comments AGAINST the recipe are Ridiculous! How can anyone in the "Right Mind" criticize what they never even tried?! I can't be the only one who thinks that's completely asinine. 😣They seem to have No shame in following through with hitting the *SEND* button either.
I made these and they were delicious 😋 but, I know how to bake so🤷🏻♀️
I'm also not closed minded enough to think that there's only "one way to skin a cat". Most people only *watch* the videos anyway and I'd be willing to bet that most viewers only watch Chef John without ever trying to actually make his recipes. I watch AND make what I like. #openyourmindspeople
