Our handsome, free-range turkey was from Branigan's Turkey Farm in Woodland, California, and it was amazing! I did the old, herb-butter under the skin trick, and it was one of the juiciest, most flavorful turkeys in recent memory. |
What's Thanksgiving, but an elaborate excuse to eat lots of buttery mashed potatoes? These were fortified with cream cheese as family tradition dictates. |
These incredibly tasty sweet potatoes were simply roasted with maple butter and topped with salty, crunchy, toasted pistachios. They were perfect. |
We finished with the pumpkin pie you saw posted a while back, and by the looks of my Twitter feed, so did many of you. I hope you had a great holiday, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Special thanks to Peggy & Al, Nina & Tom, and Jennifer and Leanne for providing us with such an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Stay tuned for a new video tomorrow!

We also enjoyed the corn spoon bread dish, which was a big hit with everyone, and no one thought it looked anything except beautiful! Besides all these wonderful foods served at the table we enjoyed snacking on cheeses, nuts and a wonderful Columbus salami.
Our Thanksgivings always remind us how fortunate we are to have the love of our daughters, our family, and with Chef John's talents and generosity, we are also the envy of millions on this day. We are so grateful, and as you can imagine, emphasis on well-fed and FULL!
We also had a Fresh Turkey from Brannigan's which we brined then roasted with a slathering of orange rosemary butter. It was the best turkey we have ever enjoyed. It won't be the last.
Are the recipes for the sides on the site? Definitely want to try all of them @ Christmas.
Cheers, Chef. And, thank you for your many years of entertainment and shared knowledge. You are... the best.

I needed a pie in a hurry and there was no time to test a recipe. I knew I could depend on your recipe to come out right and taste good. I made your Pumpkin Pie recipe. Everyone said it was delicious! I go to Foodwishes.com first for any dish because your recipes always taste great and do not require expensive equipment or a trip to Timbuktu for some exotic ingredient.
Food looks amazing Chef. I'm a devoted fan of your cooking and check out Food Wishes almost daily. Keep up the good work and here's looking forward to more delicious recipes. Thank you.
What, no turkey wing make-ahead gravy?
