Only 28 Shopping Days Until Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving will soon be upon us, and with it the annual anxiety of what to cook, and how to cook it.

I'll be doing my part to help by posting and reposting any and all holiday video recipes from my extensive library, as well as filming new ones.

Thanksgiving shouldn't be dominated by long, stressful hours in the kitchen. Your menu should never get in the way of what the holidays should really be about; drinking too much and telling your relatives what you really think of them.

If you have a particular holiday recipe you really want to see, please comment here and I'll see what I can do. Thanks, and stay tuned!

I am an omnivore, but I will be hosting a small-ish Thanksgiving party and most of my friends are vegetarians. So, I would like to see some excellent and easy-to-cook vegetarian entrees, and how to make Brussels sprouts taste good without needing bacon fat and whatever.

Also, any tips regarding making a small amount of turkey would be nice.

That would be the sort of thing I am looking for. Thank you so much!

Best brussels sprouts I've had weren't done in bacon fat. They were done with with duck fat/confit. Sorry, I know that doesn't help with the vegetarian issue but they were really yummy:)

I'd love to see a tried and true cranberry or cranberry/orange sorbet/sherbet.

I'd also like to see something savory with sweet potatoes and with a texture that isn't mashed.

Whatever you show us I'm certain it will be a great addition.

I need to know what I can fix ahead of time. I can't do it all in one day.

Friends of ours have a 'Springtime Thanksgiving' that I made a no-knead bread with pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries... It was way tasty!

I'll 2nd Chris K's requests. I've tried to make stuffing 3 times and it never turns out as tasty as I've had it elsewhere through the years.

My primary request(s), however, is for a Food Wishes sweet potato casserole. For extra credit I'd love to see Chef John's favorite pumpkin pie video recipe.

I'd also be interested in a good stuffing recipe (or an alternative like savory bread pudding). I'm always interested in new ways to use sweet potatoes too.

I know its a lot of extra work, but I really want to make turkey roulade this year.

(1) I echo the previous comments about a yummy stuffing. I've added diced apples and sausage before, which was tasty, but it always feels like there is something I'm missing.

(2) A large portion vegetable dish that I preferably don't have to prepare and serve immediately.

(3) Sweet potato pie. I tried one last year on Thanksgiving and it just tasted like a weird pumpkin pie. Is it supposed to taste like that?

Hi, I have a question - how to prepare a whole chicken / turkey for stuffing. What do we do with the intestines, guts, lungs etc.(I'm not sure the right words for that in English)
PLease.I'm begging for a demo, a clue or something..

Last year I used three of your recipes for Thanksgiving dinner. Your how to cook a turkey, the gravy part, and the no-knead bread. All where amazing! I plan to use them again this year along with your French toast recipe for breakfast (which is also a favorite).

I would love to see a stuffing recipe using homemade bread or maybe an easy, make the night before and throw into the oven breakfast casserole.

I'd add in a vote for a listing of the things yhou feel can be prepared a day ahead and reheated and which things should really be made that day.

Will be doing the make ahead gravy for sure, pies ahead, I'll be massaging kale ahead, squash will just be reheated. Mashed potatoes taste funny reheated, so unless you have a trick those will be day of...
