Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We just got back from a great family gathering at our parents, Al and Peggy, in Davis, CA, and I wanted to share a quick photo of our bird. It was a buxom 20-pounder, and tasted almost as good as it looked. I'll be back to work tomorrow, starting in on a whole slew of new videos. One we'll have coming soon, will be inspired by the pan-roasted artichoke hearts seen below. Stay tuned!

Never thought artichokes could be a valuable side dish.

Now I'm forced t give them a try and eat them in an enjoyable way.

Hallo Chef John,

I baked my first turkey yesterday, and it was amazing. The turkey was moist and delicious. I would like to thank you once again for the wonderful recipe. I added lemon and garlic and massaged the breast and leaved it for 1 hour before finally put in the oven. The result was amazing!

Happy Thanksgiving! I want to thank you for so many great recipes that made my first thanksgiving dinner a very successful one. The Apricot and Pecan Sourdough Stuffing was a big hit.

Every thanksgiving I tell myself that I could live on turkey stuffing by itself.. I wouldn't need any other food. I'm sure I'm right about that but haven't made the leap forward just yet!

For some reason (tech challenged, I guess), I cannot pull up your email address. Error message says I haven't installed something properly.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I just discovered your site in the last week or so and consider it better than any cookbook I've ever bought. Thus, I sent you a Paypal donation for my newest and "bestest" cookbook ever!

Thank you,
DR

Hi Chef John,
I've been making turkey for Xmas for many years, but the one I made from your recipe was the best of them all. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us. HAPPY 2011!
