It's been a while since I posted a, "What I Had for Breakfast," photo, but this Dungeness crab cake Benedict was just begging to be shown off. It's topped with an Old Bay hollandaise, spiked with capers and tarragon. Happy New Year!
As a gluten-free person who loves Eggs Benedict, crab cake Benedict is a personal favorite. Just love it. And hey, it is dungeness crab season. How about that?
Man that looks good! I'm thinking we have most of what we need to make it. The Chef showed us how to make Dungeness crab cakes. He showed us how to poach an egg. He showed us how to make hollandaise sauce...we need the Old Bay, capers, tarragon part! I really want a bite of that!
Oh. My. Goodness. You combined two of the best foods on the planet in one perfect breakfast! Will definitely have to make a couple extra crab cakes next time around to give this a try.

Beautiful!
If this is your very own breakfast I have to marvel not only at the picture but your restraint.

that looks delish!
Looks great!
Chef John, Please make a Swiss Fondue recipe video!! I don't trust anyone else but you with such highly sensitive missions!
Were these made because you had leftover crab cakes, or were the cakes made for the purpose of the Benedict?
Just wondering how much effort goes in to a Chef John breakfast!
Happy New Year :)
"Old Bay hollandaise" sounds amazing!!
