Just in case you missed our recent Facebook Live, here it is, in all its unscripted glory. Most people seemed to enjoy it, which I certainly appreciated, but for me it was a reminder of why I don't appear on camera. I prefer a few days to gather my thoughts before answering questions, especially when discussing topics of such importance... like, "does peanut butter go with bacon?"
Anyway, we'll be back with a new video this evening, for those of you who prefer "prerecorded Chef John." In the meantime, enjoy!
Please Note: Apparently there was a sound glitch at the beginning, and you can't hear anything until a few minutes in. The good news is, you didn't miss anything.

You're so cute. My husband and I watched it (not live) and grinned the entire time! Oh and tell Michele to cheer up j- eesh! ;) . Anyone having trouble with sound just let it run and the sound starts around the baked potato and steak conversation.
could not hear any sound until I clicked on comments. Could not make this full screen....
One of your most popular recipes is Chocolate Lava Cake II. This was a cool video! :o)
Would have been even more interesting with audio. No sound. :(
Where's the sound?
Nevermind. I advanced the video and the technical glitch was addressed.
The guy on the right is very uncomfortable to watch.
I think you are cool.
milk steak is a favorite dish of the character "Charlie Kelly" from "it's always sunny in Philadelphia."
No audio buddy, tried my laptop and i-phone, neither one has sound.
You were great, Chef John. You have a natural talent for explaining and teaching things in a relatable and fun way. Thanks cute all that you do, and keep up the great work!
Peanut butter and bacon are excellent together.
well.. i do enjoy the live one, but this is too far.. i can't see the player in wich the prerecorded chef john... it's just blanks..
Chef John I loved watching this! Amusing and informative. My new food wish is to learn how to make a squash bird...
I have no volume on the Facebook Live video, but your other ones are fine. Help!
Figured it out....the audio does not start until around 2:25 in...
Loved this video and love you Chef John!
Yes, true that it won't go full screen, but I cheated by holding down ctrl and scrolling upwards on the mouse. It makes it bigger (and the text on the page bigger also. :P
Where does one find a jar of Chef John's bbq sauce? :D
Aww Chef John you were great! But yikes, the interviewer was too awkward to watch. The only responses he had to your comments were "alright" or "fair enough," neither of which were alright or fair enough. Michelle looked lovely though! You two make a cute couple.
This was a great idea! I really enjoyed it. I was not available to watch it live, but it was interesting and fun. I watch your videos all the time. In fact, your site is my "go to" site for recipes. It's nice to see you in front of the camera. It will make your future videos all the more fun.
Thanks, Chef John!
Best. Video. Ever! Thank you so much Chef! (Oh, and I've heard the holey spoon is for risotto.) And thank you for (finally) introducing us to Michele. She's lovely.
Who is the interviewer and what book is he pitching? I'm interested in purchasing the book AND the bbq sauce!
