I wanted to let you guys know about freerice.com, a brilliant and very addictive vocabulary-building website that donates rice to the U.N. World Food Program based on your performance.
For each answer you get right, they donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but the game is so addictive that by the time you're done you will have provided enough free rice to feed a small country.
Tis' the season for doing kind things for others, and what better way than helping fight world hunger playing a game and learning new words? Please check it out, and pass along the Free Rice URL to others. Enjoy!

I love that site, it's so addictive, you improve your vocab and help people in need.
My Son introduced freerice.com to the YouTube community about a month after it originated. He challenged his viewers to beat his total grains collected. Some of those who did video responses to his challenge made it as part of a feature on this site shown on "60 Minutes"... I was so proud of him! It's such a very worthy cause! Thank you for bringing attention to it here in the blog world!! Once again Chef John, you've done real good!!!
Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.

Figured it requires 19,200 grains of rice for one day's requirement - 400 gms of rice. Tried to help out, but in two sessions lasting an hr each, could only muster 8000 grains.
Great site, though. I and my kid both are hooked on to it since this was posted.
Chef, better be careful... you risk losing some of your traffic to this site!!!
