Hello there! Just a very quick update from New York. Last night was the big Burger Bash, which was a lot of fun. We got to go because I received two tickets for winning the American Lamb Board's third annual “Get Your Grill On” video competition. Below I've posted the wining recipe in case you missed it. Since this is our anniversary weekend, I've been trying to just enjoy myself without worrying about taking pictures of everything and blogging every detail. I think I needed a little break, and thanks to the American Lamb Board and Food Network, I'm certainly getting a great one!

You make me wish I had a bigger freezer. I get pork and chickens from a friend who farms and he also does lamb but the darn freezer is pretty full. I'll have to see if I can get just a little lamb from him so I can try this recipe. Looks yummy.

Happy anniversary, Chef John! I am new to your blog, and am addicted. I used to love to cook, but with a busy life and 4 kids, I found I was losing the desire to cook. I mean really cook. I still feed my family, but would choose the simplist, probably not the healthiest, meals possible. In an attempt to change I searched for an alfredo recipe made from scratch (my husband loves alfredo)and came across your site. I was so excited that there was a video on how to prepare the dish, because I learn best by reading and seeing it done. Watching you cook the meal up close gave me the confidence to try it myself. The alfredo came out great, my husband loved it and actually had seconds (he NEVER has seconds when I cook)! I have since tried several recipes, all spectacular! And my husband can't belive that I have made them. Thanks so much for helping all of us to be able to provide our families with good wholesome meals! Your amazing! Keep up the good work! Happy Anniversary. You definitely deserve to be spoiled and be spoiled. I found your website about 3 months ago and have been incredibly blessed by yet. Just ask my husband's growing waistline. We live in Indonesia and a lot of ingredients are not available but I try hard to reduplicate with a lot of substitutions. We work in Indonesia as English teachers and the salary here is not half the salary English teachers get in the states so I unfortunately can't donate but I just wanted to thank you for blessing us with your food blog. You have helped my home become more homier. You have helped a new homemaker understand cooking. You have satisfied the tummies of 3 content boys who don't get the privilege of eating anything like MacDonald's even. proven fact! All those meat juices that drip into a fire could be caramelized on the meat (of course if you want smoky meat then of course grill away!)

In the original video, you say that the burgers can be refrigerated until needed. Could they also be frozen after being mixed and formed? If so, how far in advance could you make these without actually cooking them?
