I've shown how to make orange "supremes" before, but never up-close and personal in HD. People seem to enjoy these occasional, quick-and-easy techniques videos, and since they allow me to post a video without much heavy lifting, I enjoy them too.
This is especially true today, because tomorrow Michele and I leave for New York City for my big interview with the Food Network. As most of you know, I won the Next Food Network Star YouTube Challenge, and the Grand Prize was a meet and greet with the show's executives at their studios.
I'm very excited to build some new bridges, which is a crucial first step to burning them down. I have no idea what or when I'll be able to post, so bear with me during what could be a life-altering week.

I bet that in the end it will be those FN execs that will get intimidated. Like, how many people would point out a video from FN to a co-worker and say "hey look, this guy here is my favorite FN executive - and he is funny and totally awesome"

I have always been confused about the claim that the pith of an orange is terribly bitter. I like to eat that part and have never found it to be bitter. Rather, it seems to have very little taste at all. (I eat it because I heard that it helps prevent colds--I'm pretty gullible).

Fantastic! I didn't know about the FN win- thanks for the update. We'll miss you terribly, but somehow we'll muddle through. You do such a great job encouraging us to prepare, share and enjoy good food. Please keep it up even after you make it crazy big time! Take Care!

Good luck with Food Network. They could use some actual cooking shows in their lineup, instead of the insipid "challenges" and "stupid chef tricks" shows that seem to predominate their lineup.
Are they holding Alton Brown's mother hostage? Nothing else could explain some of the things he's doing outside of "Good Eats". And what's Ming Tsai doing competing for the "Next Iron Chef?" They must have kidnapped his grandmother or something. I thought he had more class than that.

You're great already, do you really need the FN? IF you do get on the network, angle for broadcasting on the internet. I love the current format. Broadcast TV will eventually switch to the internet, be on the leading edge. Take some CA tech savvy with you!

I wanted to decorate an orange cake using orange "supremes" but had totally forgotten that I had seen this before. May I say that some things that look so obvious are not that obvious at all. I actually tried a certain method which I dare not mention here and failed. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the cake which is going to have orange curd made using your lemon curd recipe, plus these on top.
What would I do without you? Continue posting the how tos, including what you think is the simplest. You will save lives. Really.
