I thought it was just another one of those Las Vegas urban legends, like "loose" slot machines, and "no cover" gentlemens clubs. I'm talking about the mythical $1.99 shrimp cocktail. Well, it's true, and I have the leftover saltine crackers to prove it. More about this culinary oddity in the feature film to follow.

The plastic fork was a nice touch!! At least it wasn't a spork! *grin*
I hate sporks! I would have called them forkoons.
Ya know.. you could patent the "forkoon" and make a mint!! just make the folk part a little longer and you're in like flint!! BTW, you've got to give me 10% of your profits, in cash.. unmarked bills please! TY :)
I don’t know on how I stumbled upon this cooking blog., All I know is that I’d better check out the archives for a good read. Ha-ha! Just droppin’ to say hi!

Wow..plastic fork, saltines individually wrapped, and they appear to be de-veined too--bonus! I hope they were chilled cold. Was the cocktail sauce real or was it watery ketchup? Paper or cloth napkin? Enquiring minds want to know. :-)
real cocktail sauce. paper napkins. fake boobs.
My mom took me to Las Vegas for thanksgiving when I was 15, lol. I remember having the footlong hotdog which was no longer 99cents like unwrapped said it was. And we also took advantage of the wonky time schedule by having a giant steak and dill roasted potatoes at 4:30AM before our flight back. The food was outlanding and oversized, and someone bland in my opinion.
