NEW and IMPROVED: Eggy Potato and Pepper Pie - Now with Scintillating Narration!

By popular demand, here is a version with narration. I still wasn't in the mood, so I decided to try and have a little fun with it. By the way, it is very inspiring to know I can have a positive effect on some of you just by talking! Thanks!

Thank you John. My voice overs sound like crap but yours is great. I heard something the other day and since your are so blue I will leave you with what I heard (in a pizza place.)
"Turn that frowny upside downy, eat a piece of hot fudge brownie."

LOL!

"you tap the cheese in, I don't know why I did that"

I was talking about this market with some friends of mine some days ago, before even the market of iceland national bank gave up...

scary shit coming in the next few years

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. =(

You certainly sound like you are in a funk. Your heart just wasn't in it. We should have left well enough alone and let you be in your mood. Everyone is entitled.

You really got me laughing with this one,and I appreciate it as I just got back from an iffy job interview. If the fates see fit to give me this job, I'll make a big donation to the site... (c'mon karma) :)

Great post John! Now go and feed all those Wallstreet bankers; They must be starving...

Thanks everyone! It's so funny how some of you thought I was really upset and others could tell it was a put on. One great thing about living like a monk is that you have nothing to lose! I'm fine, and hope you all find comfort in cooking.

Ok, so being that you're fine... can I bug you about your website again? Why are all the links that were along the left side of the page gone? You do know they're gone, right? This isn't just me? You haven't mentioned anything about it. Is this some kind of test to see who cares? I care!

Chef John said...

They aren't gone. I'm looking at them now. Sometimes blogger hiccups and they don't load properly. If you reload the page or come back they will be there. If you never see them, then there is a bug with your browser and my page. Nothing I can do on this end. Thanks!

Ok, I was really puzzled because I havn't seen that side bar of links all week... and I still can't. So, I went and tested it on three other computers. Result: you can see the links with Firefox but NOT with Internet Explorer.

I was thinking that if I were you I would address the complaints of you not doing a voice-over with doing a really bad one. Great minds...

Anyways, since you sleptwalked through the voice-over, I'll sleepwalk through my comment :

Hey! Awesome! Looks Delish! Can't wait to try it! Ever since the Irish Potato Famine, though, I can't even look at a potato. What could I substitute for them? Oh, and I'm allergic to eggs. What would you suggest? And is there a non-alcoholic recipe of this? Wowee! Can't wait to try it!

"because all the junk in there is hot"

I had to pause it there, laughing too hard.

Connie T. said...

I can't see the links or info on the side anymore either.

Yes. Something went awry with the side bar after that Slow Food Nation Post. It's too bad, because new visitors who can't see it won't know how great this blog really is. If you click on one of the Labels: at the bottom of each post it it will take you to a page where you can see the side bar. Most of them seem to work except for Blog News (132) which really only gives you (2).

"Don't even put cheese. It doesn't bother me. I've got other things on my mind." Hahaha. I love the cynical thing! You should do it more. ;)

yes, there is some bug with blogger and explorer I here. Download Firefox! I can't do anything about the bug, unfortunately.

Chef, the voiceover was well worth the wait and I hope you are aware of how funny that was on different levels!

Liked the recipe. Liked the music too--what and who is it by?

Chef John said...

This cracks me up every time I watch it! I'm finally making it tonight. Considering the time I guess it will be a late brunch and early brinner? What's that even called? Yummm.

Not sure if it's because I'm three years removed from the post, but this is the funniest stuff I've come across in a long time. "I minored in patting" - Classic! Also, you have one of the few food sites that a college kid can get by on. Thank you for remembering the little people!
