Introducing My New Grass-Fed Business Associates

Over the next few months I'll be doing a series of video recipes in association with Normanton Farms, focusing on cooking various cuts of grass-fed beef.

The beautiful Highland cattle you see here (don't they look delicious?) were raised by Steve Normanton on his 30-acre farm in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Stay tuned for more info and the first episode coming very soon!

Although I do respect your views and admire the work you do Chef John, I really wish you could remember your vegan and vegetarian followers. I love your videos and have learned so much from you, but as a vegetarian, there is just so much I can adjust and cook. I know most of your viewers are not vegetarian or vegan, and you are not either, but some of your followers are.
I wish you could make a video about cooking with tofu, soy meat, etc. I wont go into a rant, but I know you know that both of those accesible ingredients are really healthy and a dish made by you would make a great exotic meal for meat eaters and a great new recipe for us vegans and vegetarians.
I hope I didn't make this long comment sound as if I was whinnying, or complaining. You have taught me many things, from reducing sauces to finding a way to sneak soy meat into one of your recipes because it looked so good; and for that I will always be gratefull. You are an amazing, talented Chef, and that is why I took the time to write this.

I just wanted to add that I agree with every word adri said.

You are a GREAT Chef and very funny, I love your little comments in your clips, and I visit your site atleast once a day, but a little more vegan\veggi recpies would be great. (and are healthy!)

Chef, your cow bliss picture reminded me the excellent piece "Argentina on two steaks a day":

Based upon my research, you should be doing 94 meat/fish recipes and 6 vegetarian recipes out of every hundred recipes. But, that would be a vegetarian's point to make, since I eat everything I don't mind what the recipes are as long as they are good and they always are here.

Hilarious Bill W, NH... will you tell us where you found those numbers?

I have one veggie friend - chose to go that route after losing a loved one to cancer. Healthy, fit, fun to be around, and very serious about what he eats, but I see his dilemma when eating out, or cooking at home.

Chef John has "lots on his plate" - with omnivores to please all over the world, and just as there are those who don't like one type of meat or another, there are vegetarians of different tastes, too, so it's hard to suit the masses, no matter how many videos he makes directed toward any group preference.

We are all so lucky that he gives us these entertaining videos and wonderful suggestions on his foodwishes page. I'll take whatever he serves!

Grazie Chef Giovanni!

Chef Giovanni, I just "Googled" and came up with this web site:

I think I'm well within the acceptable ratio of veg/meat video recipes. For further info, please refer to the old "The Scorpion and the Frog" Parable

What did you mean with "flattery will get you everywhere..."?

Hi Chef John! I'm going to agree with foofifofum and say I really appreciate that you take the time to not only plan your recipes, but take photos, video and blog about them. The amount of work that goes into simply maintaining a blog of this calibre gives you license to post recipes of whatever you want, in my opinion. So, while I understand where the vegetarian/vegan crowd is coming from (as someone who has food intolerances aplenty), I say blog on, my friend!

Also: as I can eat grass-fed beef, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you've got coming in the next while.

Chef John, I cannot wait to read all about the grass fed series ... big interest with us over at Chez!

I'm going to respectfully disagree with Adriana, as tofu and soy meat are not healthy for you. Grass-fed meat, however, is very healthy for you!

Regardless, this is his blog, and he can post whatever he wants to :-) And we're blessed to have whatever he chooses to write about.

I cannot wait to see what you come up with, Chef John. My family's hungry tummies are waiting for your delicious recipes!

Thanks!

Rebecca
